Private Lessons

Guitar Lessons Northern Colorado, StudioK Music

At StudioK Music we work hard every week to find a balance between teaching technique, applying this technique to songs you’ll love, and challenging you with songs you may not have picked for yourself. Here’s a break down of elements we include in your private music lessons.

Technique

This is the part of the lesson were we will work on the little things that add up to be the important things”. We aren’t about making students do scales or warm-ups just because. You will find that we will work on a specific technique to apply to a specific song that you will be working on in the lesson. For example: if your guitar song has hammer ons – we will work on a repetitive technique go refine this skill. Or if your vocal song has dark rich high notes – we will work on strengthening that range in a warm up. Our hope is that you will always know WHY we are working on a specific skill and have motivation to get better at it to make your song better!

Student Song Choices

We love asking our student to bring in songs that are inspiring. Whether from the radio or from a school choir or even songs you are writing. This is your chance to us why you love music, and our chance to help you sound your best on that song!

Teacher Chosen Songs

Once we get to know your style and preference, we will find songs that we think are a good fit for you. Often this is a challenging song that you may not have thought of or a song that we are hoping to broaden your skills with. The good news is – we are not going to force our opinions on you. However, our hope is that we get to know you so well that you’ll be excited about our choices for you!

Mentoring

This is the heart behind why we love what we do. We know that coming into a your private lessons and showing a part of you can feel very vulnerable. Especially when some of that does not always sound or look pretty when you are learning something new! Know that all of the music instructors on our team are here ultimately because they care about your success. In fact, if you don’t feel that connection we want to know! Also, that’s why we offer the first meeting free so you can see if you connect with your potential teacher. Our hope is that you are daily growing in confidence in your music and therefore, in yourself!
